Jan. 16: ‘Youth is the major segment of
the society. They consist almost 60% and
that is why we have to concentrate on them’ said Shalini Rajaneesh, Secretary Personnel and
Administrative Reforms, Govt. of Karnataka.
She was inaugurating the one day State conference organized by All India
Radio, Mangalore, under the title “Viveka Spoorthi-Yuva Shakthi” in commemoration
of Swamy Vivekananda’s 150th birth anniversary.
The programme was conducted at Shri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mangalore, in co-operation with Shri Ramakrishna Mission, Mangalore unit.
While continuing Dr. Shalini Rajaneesh said, ‘Govt. of
Karnataka has formed a youth policy in which every care will be taken to faster
the youth force. They have to proceed
with positive nature, she said.
Swamy Jithakamanandaji of Shri Ramakrishna Mutt,
Mangalore gave key note address. Shri
Prakashanandaji Maharaj of Ranebennur Ashrama, Prof. K. Raghothama Rao of Bangalore
and G. Ramesh Chandran, Deputy Director(Eng) were participated as chief
guests.
Dr Vasanthkumar Perla, Head of Programme, AIR, Mangalore,
presided over the function. He said,
AIR, Mangalore is striving hard to forth the local art, literature and culture
and took active role in the all round development of the area.
The entire inaugural session was broadcast live and
nearly thirty lakhs of listeners listened the programme. The hall was jam packed because of the active
participation of the college students and youth.
Sadananda Holla, Programme Executive welcomed the gathering. K. Ashok, Transmission Executive gave vote of
thanks, while Dr. B. M. Sharabendra Swamy, Transmission Executive compared the programme.
After the inaugural function two session on ‘Youth and
Media’ and Youth and present day situation’ were conducted. Sri Ravindra, Director, Shri Vivekananda
Education Education Trust, Puttur and Sri. Chakravarthi Soolibele, Thinker and
Orator, Bangalore presented on the topic ‘viveka marga- jagrutha bharata’. Dr. B. V. Vasanth Kumar, Dept. of Kannada,
Maharani Arts and Commerce college, Mysore addressed presidential speech.
Dr. Niranjana Vanalli, Dept. of Journalism and Mass
Communication, University of Mysore and
Sri Mandya Ramesh, Noted Theatre Person, Mysore presented their
afternoon seminor Viveka Marga- Media and Youth Mentality. Dr. H. V. Narasimha Murthy, Retd. Sansktrit
Professor, Kundapura was addressed his
presidential speech.
The Students of Shree Sharada Vidyanikethana Public
School, Thalapady presented ‘Mera Bharat Mahan’ an variety entertainment
programme for the morning session and Canara First Grade college students
gave ‘Swabhiman Bharat’ entertainment programme as part of the
conference afternoon session. Sri Ramakrishna Mutt hosted the guests.
